ORA-01547, ORA-01194: file 1 needs more recovery to be consistent, ORA-01110, ORA-1547 signalled during: ALTER DATABASE RECOVER CANCEL

About the issue/Background:

The Database clone from PROD to Non-Prod environment is being performed using the Snap clone functionality. So, the essential part of DBA team is to put the Source Database in Begin Backup Mode. And once the Snap Clone is completed, SANteam will inform DBA to end the Backup; there on DBA will need to perform recovery of DB.

Issue:

ORA-01547: warning: RECOVER succeeded but OPEN RESETLOGS would get error below
ORA-01194: file 1 needs more recovery to be consistent
ORA-01110: data file 1: ‘/mnt/oracle/oradata/fs01/system01.dbf’
ORA-1547 signalled during: ALTER DATABASE RECOVER CANCEL …

Cause:

The Snap clone may not have happened properly

Resolution:

Observed the below errors in Target Database alert logfile while performing the recovery of Database (recover Database using backup controlfile until cancel;), and understood that there must be some issue with the Snap clone. So, Deleted all the OS level files and requested SAN team to rerun the snap clone.

This fixed the issue.
