<Server subsystem failed. Reason: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 0, Size: 0 #WebLogic

Issue:

While starting the Managed Server in WebLogic (SOA or OBIEE or any FMW for that matter), the Managed Server goes to “Failed Not Restart able” mode. Below is the complete error message,

Cause:

Could be because of network communication issues between Admin and Managed Servers

 

Resolution:

This issue is mainly occurred when the communication between the Problematic Managed Server and Admin server is broken. Make sure to check the below scenarios,

  1. ping Admin Server from Managed Server (if both are residing on different hosts) and make sure it listens/connects
  2.  Telnet from Managed Server node to Admin server node (telnet <adminserver> <port #>
  3. Make sure the Virtual Interfaces are up in a clustered environment and when using virtual ip addresses and names
